Rules & Regulations 2023

Art.1 — The Cultural Association «Recondite Armonie» in collaboration with the Municipality of Grosseto organizes the 4th International Piano Competition «Recondite Armonie». The young Italian and foreign pianists can take part in the competition. The auditions will take place on 9th and 10th June 2023 at the Municipal Theater of Grosseto. There is a preliminary round online only for the category “D” The Absolute winners will be awarded during the Award Ceremony, which will be held on Saturday 10th June 2023 at the Municipal Theater; only the absolute winner of each category will play at the Prize-giving Concert. Winners of the competition categories will be obliged, under penalty of losing the prize, to perform in the Final concert.

 

Art.2 — Free-election solo piano works for all competitors. All works can be played from memory and by score. All auditions are open to the public.

PIANO SOLO

 

Cat. “A” born from 01/01/2014

max. 7 minutes of free choice repertoire

 

Cat. “B” born from 01/01/2010 to 31/12/2013
max. 11 minutes of free choice repertoire

 

Cat. “C” born from 01/01/2006 to 31/12/2009
max. 14 minutes of free choice repertoire

 

Cat. “D” born from 01/01/1993 to 31/12/2005

 

-Online preselection round by uploading video on YouTube

max. 10 minutes of free choice repertoire

 

-Final round in Grosseto (max. 8 finalists)

max. 20 minutes of free choice repertoire

 

It is possible to play the same works from the repertoire of preliminary video recording.

max. 10 minutes of free choice repertoire

 

Cat. “F” born from 01/01/1993 to 31/12/2007
max. 15 minutes of free choice repertoire

 

Art.3 – Competitors can participate in a higher category if they believe that their preparation allows it, but not in a lower category.

 

 

Art.4 — The competitors on their arrival must present:

1) Identity document
2) 2 copies of the scores of performed pieces

 

 

Art.5 — The Jury will be able to: — ask the competitor to cut a part of the program if the established timing is exceeding; — not proceed with the awarding of prizes and scholarships if the level of execution is insufficient. The decision of the jury is final and not subject to questions, revisions, or appeal.

 

Art.6 — If a member of the jury is a relative or if he has taught a competitor within the last two years, he will abstain from assessing that competitor.

 

Art.7 — The results will be announced by the end of auditions. Absolute winners will be awarded during the final concert.

 

 

Art.8 — The Competition provides a grand piano on the stage.

 

Art.9 — The schedule of rehearsals and order of performances will be published on the website www.reconditearmonie.it Once the calendar is published there will not be any changes allowed. For any information, call the organizers (+393283986623, +393208871188).

 

Art.10 — All travel, accommodation and living expenses are the sole responsibility of the participant. Participants will be provided with information about hotels, restaurants, transport and special offers. A visa for foreign participants is at their own expense.

 

 

Art.11 – The Organizing Committee undertakes all the preparatory work on the competition, provides venues for performances, has the exclusive right to all audio and video recordings of the participants and may be used in promotional materials of the competition. The right to settle disputes belongs to the Artistic Director.

 

 

Art.12 – Prizes

For each category (except of the category «D»), the judgment will be in hundreds. All the contestants will receive a participation certificate. The contestant who will receive the highest score – in any case not below 98/100 – in each category will be the Winner of the Category. The money prize is not divisible.  

 

First prize (from 95/100 to 100/100 points) — cup, diploma and medal

Second prize (from 90/100 to 94/100 points) — diploma and medal

Third prize (from 85/100 to 89/100 points) — diploma and medal

There are 3 money prizes for the category D.

 

Prizes

Contestant who will receive the highest score will be the Winner of the Category. This cultural event is not comparable to the sweepstakes, as intended by D.P.R.430/2001, art.6 com.1. Therefore, the Resolution n.8/1251 of the 28th October 1976 decides that the prizes will not be income taxed at the source. However, we specify that the final prizes will be added to Your personal income and the winners will have to pay own compulsory contributions on the basis of Your income tax return.

Cat. “B” — Absolute First Prize €300
Cat. “C” — Absolute First Prize €500
Cat. “D” — First Prize €1000

(all the finalists of the category «D» will receive the diploma)

Cat. “E” — Absolute First Prize €300

Cat. “F” — Absolute First Prize €500

 

 

 

Art.13 HOW TO APPLY

It is necessary to send the following documents by e-mail not later than May 8th, 2023:

1. Photocopy of document
2. One high-resolution photo (JPEG)

3. Copy of payment of registration fee – to be
paid to Associazione Culturale “Recondite Armonie” (PDF)
4. Application Form filled and signed (WORD or PDF, no scan please)

5. Only for the category “D” — link on YouTube with performance. Requests for video: one take, no cut, open to the public.

Art.15 Registration for the competition constitutes acceptance by the contestant of all rules and regulations. The Organizing Committee does not provide the contestants with any insurance and is not responsible for their personal things. The Italian version of this announcement will be deemed official in the case of any subsequent contestation.
